The purpose of a anti-sway bar is to reduce body roll. Most FWD cars like the Honda civic people get the rear sway bar to help also increase vehicle rotation. What this mean is the car is able to turn faster or reduce understeer by introducing more oversteer. Essentially giving the car more ability to handle a track situation. The increased oversteer will be that the steering wheel input will have more traction and thus will react under higher speed cornering maneuvers instead of just plowing through a turn with understeer. Oversteer does present more advanced techniques for handling and care while regular driving at times. But most find this to be a big improvement over the standard and safe setup that Honda gives.
